HID Global demos secure ID printing solutions

The Secure Issuance division of HID Global is showcasing its Fargo range of direct-to-card printers/encoders at GITEX.hid

“We are the leaders in desktop card personalization solutions, and we meet the high-volume, card issuance demands of large government entities, universities, financial institutions and other large enterprises. In the Middle East, we are particular strong in the Government sector, where we offer laser engraving systems for national IDs and premise access systems for army and police. We are also strong in the financial institutions markets by offering printers that are capable of printing debit or credit cards,” says Chrisophe Malgorn, Director Secure Issuance, EMEA, HID Global.

He says the Middle East is far ahead of developed markets when it comes to the migration from magstripes to EMV chip technology. “This migration is now happening in Africa and that gives us a lot of opportunities. And when it comes to national IDs, you need several layers of security including contact and contactless features. We have products to address these technological needs.”

On the display at HID Global booth at Gitex is the company latest DTC5500LMX all-in-one printing and lamination solution that delivers high-volume production at low cost. The DTC5500LMX utilizes HID’s wasteless lamination technology, elimination the needs for the standard carrier film and take-up core included in most lamination consumables on the market today.

HID Global has recently acquired DemoTeller, which provides instant issuance solutions for the financial market. With this acquisition, HID Global says it will now be able to address the needs of financial institutions and retailers for instant issuance of personalized financial or payment cards, such as a chip card.
